The best beach resorts in St Kitts: In our opinion, Frigate Bay South is the most popular and best beach in St Kitts outside of the beaches on the Southeast Peninsula. This Caribbean beach has a long stretch of golden sand and the waters are mostly calm. There are beach bars (including Mr X Shiggidy Shack Bar & Grill and Monkey Bar) and restaurants (Dolce Cabana and Sunset Cafe) that sell a variety of cold drinks and mouth watering foods.
Getting Around St Kitts: Car rentals offer travellers the most freedom and mobility, though at the most expense. Drivers stay to the left in St. Kitts and Nevis. Roadways can be pocked with potholes, and animals occasionally dart in front of vehicles, but roads are generally well-maintained.
Places to see: We highly recommend a tour of the Capital BASSETERRE. Basseterre town is going through its share of inevitable modernization while trying to hold on to the past through its buildings, public squares, and the efforts of the business community to maintain some historic authenticity.
Seasons in St Kitts: There are no definitive seasons in St.Kitts, though you could class July to November the wet season and December to June the dry season. The climate is strongly influenced by the North East trade winds that bring welcome, cooling breezes that makes for the very agreeable temperatures enjoyed on the islands. The surrounding seas are warm year round.
Safety Issues: St Kitts and Nevis is a friendly and welcoming country but incidents of violent crime including murder do occur. Although these tend to occur within the local community, there have been a number of recent incidents involving British nationals in the Half Moon Court area, including a double murder and violent attack.
